The straddle bridge is the small connector that links the two arms of a centre-pull or cantilever brake, so both arms move in sync when you pull the lever. If your braking feels uneven, or one arm seems slow to respond, a worn or damaged bridge is worth checking before you start chasing other faults.
This D20 version is a straightforward replacement for traditional and vintage brake setups, and it is a sensible spare to keep in the toolbox if you run them. Easy to overlook, but it has a real effect on how the brakes perform.
